1955 Triumph TR-2
;
This is a 1955 Triumph TR-2, with factory overdrive. According to the TR-2 Survivors List, there are only 53 of these accounted for in the United States (not including this one). This is a rare opportunity to own one of the ultimate Triumph collectibles. There can’t be many un-restored examples left.
This is literally a garage find. The registration sticker on the windshield says 1970! Since it’s been stored inside for decades it’s been spared the rot that can destroy these old roadsters. It has what I believe to be the original engine, and except for a few superficial things, has survived quite well.
This car does have a few small patches of rust, but nowhere near what I’ve seen in many of them. The turn-signal switch has gone missing at some point. The dash was covered with a piece of plywood, but the metal dash is still underneath. Someone started working on it years ago, and removed the master-cylinders. The fuel sediment bowl and coolant elbow were also removed, but are still with the car. The floor was also covered with plywood, but I’m not sure why - the floors don’t look bad. The original seat brackets are also included with the car. The side-curtain brackets were removed, but are included. The fuel filler cap has gone missing, along with the rear bumper-ettes. There was an impact in the rear, which has been filled. Some work with a hammer and dolly should be able to restore the factory body lines. The trunk floor and spare tire floor are in nice shape and not rusted through. The trunk has had the dzus fittings shaved. The hood had the dzus fittings removed and replaced with pins/keys. It still has the side curtains (which would need to be rebuilt), along with the top bows.
These are relatively easy to restore, since there’s not much to them and parts are still readily available at reasonable prices. This will be an incredible car for someone, whether it would be used for cruising twisty roads, or as the center-piece of a great collection.

This little beauty is headed to a great collection in Italy.
Sorry, this one already went to a new home, but if you check our current inventory, I bet you'll find something else that you'll like.
