This is such a cool camper!
This Westfalia camper was originally made to US specs, but delivered to a dealer in Germany. It's likely that since there was a US airforce base in the same city as the dealership in Germany where the tag says the bus was sent, it may have been ordered there by a member of the military, then shipped home.
It has a front bench seat, which isn't too common on bay-window Westys. It also has some neat options codes like a gas heater (unfortunately the heater is long gone). It runs and drives.
The original color was Brilliant Blue. It's been repainted a different color, but that's a really cool color if you ever wanted to put it back to original.
It starts right up and runs great. The engine is a single-port, dual relief, with doghouse fan-shroud - which is an excellent set-up for a bus. We just installed a new starter with bushing.
It’s really complete, and even still has the child’s cot, mosquito nets, upper cot, spare rim, etc. It has a front bench seat, with independently adjustable driver’s seat. The front bench is harder to find and great because it allows a lot more room in the sleeping area, more people up front, and more comfort for the passenger. It looks like all the upholstery is original. This bus also has a pretty cool set of factory option codes, which you can see below.
There is some misc. stuff that comes with the bus which includes a few things that were removed by a previous owner, and even a few extra parts.
